Rosacea and Laser Treatment
In this modern age of medicine and technological breakthroughs reminiscent of Star Wars, extremely powerful and almost entirely unfelt highly concentrated beams of light are used to treat certain aspects of rosacea that were once blue light acne pimple treatment beyond medicine's reach and were simply thought of as things that had to be endured by rosacea carriers. These are, needless to say, laser treatments. These vascular lasers emit light of particular wavelengths that are pinpoint-targeted at the tiny, barely visible blood vessels that are networked just beneath the endoderm, or the skin's surface. The heat from the energy of the laser grows greater and greater in the blood vessels and eventually causes their disintegration. This rosacea laser treatment attempts to do selective destruction of blood vessels, obliterating the lesions while at once doing as little collateral damage as possible to the surrounding skin.
Most recently, laser treatment for rosacea has advanced even more to minimize bruising, and instruments called IPLs, or Intense Pulsed Lightsources have been developed that while mimicking lasers engender light at multiple wavelengths so as to be able to treat a wider spectrum of tissue.
Laser treatment for milder cases of rosacea can cost between $150 and $300. When rosacea is more advanced, the costs can be in excess of $500. Most people who receive the laser treatment begin to notice reductions in the amount of irritate, red lines of blood vessels within two weeks after their surgery. A person who undergoes laser treatment for rosacea might experience some mild tightening or burning in the face in the immediate times after the treatment and perhaps during it as well. Bruising is sometimes noticed if pulsed treatment is used, and there have been incidences of noticeable skin darkening, although like a tan this is only temporary. Sometimes the redness and swelling actually become severe for a few days after the surgery, but then they disappear and the beneficial effects of the laser treatment take hold.
